Superior Plus suffers ransomware attack, investigation ongoing

Superior Plus Corp. issued a statement that the company was subjected to a ransomware incident on Dec. 12, which impacted computer systems.

According to the statement, “upon learning of the incident, Superior took steps to secure its systems and mitigate the impact to the Corporation’s data and operations. Independent cybersecurity experts have been retained to assist the Corporation in dealing with the matter in accordance with industry best practices.”

Superior said it has temporarily disabled certain computer systems and applications as it investigates this incident and is in the process of bringing these systems back online. The company is also assessing the impact to the corporation’s operations, and thus far, “Superior has no evidence that the safety or security of any customer or other personal data has been compromised,” the statement said.
