OESP expands Dave Nelsen scholarship awards to technicians

Oil and Energy Service Professionals (OESP) has expanded its Dave Nelsen Scholarship Program to include technicians in the energy service industry. The awards are designed to help fund classes and will total up to $2,000.
Criteria include: applying for the scholarship at least two weeks before the start of the class; sponsorship by a local OESP chapter; work as a technician for a minimum of one year in the field of HVAC, propane or oil; work at a company with a membership in OESP; a detailed explanation of the class and its benefits on a separate sheet and application up to two times.
An example of classes that may qualify: a course to achieve a license, manufacturer training and NORA education.
Established in 1999, the Dave Nelsen Scholarship program has traditionally provided scholarships to students interested in pursuing careers in the energy service industry and has awarded a total of $300,000.
