North Carolina community college launches HVAC Series to start in August

Beaufort County Community College (BCCC), Washington, NC, is holding a heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) series starting in August to give students the skills they need to succeed in a high-demand career. Students can start the series in August and finish in Fall 2020 with 6 credentials, 3 certificates and more than 300 hours that will count toward state licensure. BCCC said these classes are eligible for both the State Employees Credit Union and the Darragh Foundation scholarships. The classes include:

  • HVAC: Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning Level 1: an introductory HVAC class starting August 5 on Monday and Thursday nights for $186.25
  • HVAC: Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning Level 2: an intermediate HVAC class starting August 5 on Monday and Tuesday nights for $186.25; after taking the class, students will have the opportunity to sit for the EPA Section 608 exam (for an additional $25 testing fee)
  • HVAC: Heating, Ventilating, & Air Conditioning Level 3: continuing HVAC education on Tuesday and Thursday nights starting August 6 for $186.25; at the end of class, students can sit for an Employment Ready exam for System Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (for an additional $25 testing fee)
  • HVAC: Basic Refrigeration & Charging Procedures:  All about basic refrigeration on Saturday October 5 for $75; at the end of class an ESCO Institute exam for Basic Refrigeration and Charging can be taken (for an additional $15 testing fee)
