New Lake Shore Compact HVAC-R Program Accepting Applications Through May 3

Lake Shore Compact, Mentor, OH, and Lake Erie College, Painesville, OH, are partnering to offer a new HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) program for Lake Shore Compact/Mentor Career Tech students for the 2019-2020 school year. Students in their senior year will have the opportunity to earn an EPA 608 certification for Refrigerant Recovery Core and Level 1, according to a news release. Another credential students could earn is through the OSHA 10-Hour General Industry training. The one-year program will be located at Lake Erie College’s new HVAC-R lab. Northeast Ohio’s job market has a high demand for HVAC technicians, according to the Lake Shore Compact. Applications are due May 3 and can be found at lakeshorecompact.org.
