As of January 1, 2018, retail heating oil companies in Massachusetts can receive so-called Alternative Energy Credits (AECs) for delivering heating oil to customers containing blends of “eligible liquid biofuel” at B10 (10%) or higher.

On March 6, 2018, MEMA will host a webinar for the association and the heating oil industry with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) that will focus on explaining the details of this recently enacted program under the Commonwealth’s Alternative Portfolio Standard.
“These regulations present a significant opportunity for the retail heating oil industry as more and more dealers begin to market renewable biofuel,” said MEMA’s Michael Ferrante. “For the past two years MEMA has been heavily involved in helping to guide these regulations to final passage and there are many details to understand. We encourage all members to participate in this webinar.”
The webinar will begin at 10:00 am and will last until 11:30 am. Participation requires access to a computer, the internet and a phone line. The webinar can be accessed by going to:
