Former Oilheating Journal Editor Paul Geiger Passes Away

Paul J. Geiger, Jr., former Editor of ICM predecessors Oilheating Journal and Fueloil & Oil Heat, passed away on May 30, 2019 at the age of 83. Born on Feb. 23, 1936, Geiger was raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, NJ and graduated with honors from Seton Hall University. He became Managing Editor Fueloil & Oil Heat in December of 1973, eventually becoming Editor of Oilheating Journal and a partner in its parent company, Industry Publications, Inc. in Parsippany, NJ, before retiring in 2002.
Geiger had a passion for sailing, traveling, baseball and astro-physics, publishing the book “We Live in the Helical Solar System: Our Home in a Helical Universe” in 2012. In his earlier adult years, he participated in local theater.
Geiger is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betsy; his children Paul, Trish, Sheila and Beth Geiger; grandchildren Jessica, Shaun, Brian and Ian; and great-grandchildren Violet and Max.
