EIA gives short-term energy outlook, expects declines this winter

The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) expects average expenditures for home heating energy will decline this winter compared to last due to warmer forecast temperatures. EIA expects that both natural gas and electricity bills will decline by 1%, home heating oil by 4% and propane by 15%.
However, EIA forecasts that expenditures will increase for homes heated with natural gas in the Midwest and South due to higher retail natural gas prices.
