Chris Herb has been named acting president of the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association (formerly ICPA). Herb replaces Gene Guilford, who, after a restructuring of the association, has assumed the post of National and Regional Policy Counsel. Guilford served as President of the association for ten years. Herb, formerly Vice President of the association, specialized in state government relations and as a policy analyst and industry organizer. He has been with ICPA/CEMA for more than 12 years.

Prior to that, he was elected and served two terms as a Burgess for the Borough of Naugatuck, worked as a legislative aide for the Connecticut General Assembly and as the Director of Public Support for the American Red Cross.

The changes at the association follow closely on a major victory for oil heat when a proposed bill taxing heating oil and propane in Connecticut was defeated in committee. See the news item regarding that issue here.
