Chesapeake Utilities buys Western Natural Gas, expands Florida propane footprint

Chesapeake Utilities Corp.’s propane subsidiary, Sharp Energy, has acquired Western Natural Gas Co. in Jacksonville, FL for an undisclosed sum. The deal closed Oct. 26.
Western Natural Gas services propane needs for home heating/cooling, appliances and pools and hot tubs in Florida to approximately 4,000 customers, It sells around 1M gallons of propane annually in four northeast Florida counties.
