Beginning Jan. 1, ownership and administration of the Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) will be transferred from the National Propane Gas Association (NGPA) to the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) to organize everything in one place. The program offers 14 different certification areas covering a variety of skills, a formal testing structure and employee knowledge and skills verification.
The transfer will include the moving of all training records, tests, skill evaluations for more than 100,000 propane professionals to a new, online platform called The Learning Center on PERC’s website (www.propane.com), as well as a Help Desk. Users will be able to conveniently access all materials from their desktop computer, laptop, cellphone or tablet.
“Our goal is to make workforce training and certification better, faster, and cheaper,” said Eric Kuster, PERC’s VP of Safety, Training and Compliance. “Today’s workforce learns differently than previous generations, so we are designing a more flexible system that better serves current and future hires alike.”
