Acquisitions abound in home heating and cooling markets

Several companies are continuing with their strategies to bring new companies on board and expand their firms.
ThompsonGas has acquired Owatonna, MN-based propane provider Pirkl Gas, its seventh merger in 2020. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition strengthens ThompsonGas’ presence in Minnesota and supports the ThompsonGas’ active growth strategy. It will also help family-owned Pirkl Gas grow as the next generation of the family assumes leadership roles. Owner Greg Pirkl’s parents established Pirkl Gas in 1959.
NearU HVAC Services has acquired Hagan Heating and Air, in Anderson, SC, for an undisclosed sum. This is NearU’s fourth acquisition in six months. Under NearU’s ownership, Hagan will merge with Carolina Heating Services in Greenville, SC. Paul Hagan, Founder of Hagan Heating and Air, will lead customer service efforts. Hagan Heating and Air has served thousands of customers in the past three decades.
